Learning to Flourish is unique in its integration of Positive Education, a philosophy rooted in Positive Psychology that focuses on fostering optimal well-being and happiness. We combine this with research-based best practices in early childhood education. Our approach emphasizes small class sizes, an exclusive curriculum, and a supportive environment where children can flourish academically, socially, and emotionally. Additionally, our commitment to hands-on learning creates a nurturing and enriching experience for every child.

     We offer the following programs:

    • Tot Program: Designed for children 2-3 years old, focusing on play-based learning and foundational skills.
    • Preschool Program: For children 3-4 years old, fostering social skills, independence, and early academic concepts.
    • Pre-Kindergarten Program: For children 4-5 years old, preparing them for kindergarten through hands-on learning, literacy, and math.
These programs are designed to meet the unique developmental needs of each age group, promoting a balance of self-directed and guided learning.

Learning to Flourish maintains teacher-to-student ratios that are significantly lower than state licensing requirements to ensure personalized attention and quality care:

    • Tot Program: 1:6
    • Preschool Program: 1:8 or 1:10 (depending on the location)
    • Pre-Kindergarten Program: 1:9 or 1:12 (depending on the location)
This ensures your child receives individualized support and thrives in a nurturing environment.

Our daily schedule provides a blend of engaging and purposeful activities, including:

    • Self-directed play to foster creativity and independence.
    • Guided academic discovery focused on early literacy and math.
    • Outdoor exploration and play to build a connection to nature.
    • Yoga and mindfulness sessions for emotional regulation and focus.
    • Studio time to explore interests through art, music, and inquiry-based projects.

Each day is thoughtfully structured to balance learning, play, and rest, catering to the developmental needs of the children.

We provide wholesome, nutritious meals and snacks as part of our tuition. Meals feature a source of protein, fruits, and vegetables plus organic milk. Families with specific dietary needs can discuss accommodations with us. Packed meals are also an option for families with cultural, medical, or religious preferences.

Outdoor exploration is integral to our philosophy and daily schedule. Children participate in activities such as gardening, nature walks, and outdoor play that foster physical activity, resilience, and a love for nature. Outdoor learning is also interwoven with academic subjects like math, literacy, and mindfulness, ensuring a holistic approach to development.

Safety is our top priority. Measures include:

    • A locked facility requiring a code for access.
    • Staff trained in CPR, First Aid, and communicable disease prevention.
    • Strict cleaning and sanitization protocols.
    • Supervision during all activities, with authorized pick-up documentation required.
    • Regular fire and tornado drills to ensure preparedness.

Our commitment to safety ensures peace of mind for families.

We believe in fostering strong partnerships with families. Parents can engage in their child’s education by participating in programs like the Mystery Reader, helping with our school garden, or sharing their career experiences with students. Regular communication is encouraged through our childcare software management app, and we offer scheduled conferences in the fall and spring to discuss progress and goals.

To ensure a healthy environment, children showing symptoms such as fever, vomiting, or severe coughing must stay home. They can return after being symptom-free for 24 hours. If a child becomes ill at school, they are isolated, and parents are contacted immediately. Our policy aligns with Ohio Department of Health recommendations.
